GREAT HORNED OWL

The owlet is really beginning to look like a Great Horned Owl. It's starting to get feathers and will soon be able to fly. The owlet was put into the habitat with Merlin, the Great Horned Owl that has been at the center for over 17 years. Here it will learn to be an owl. It may sound like a fairytale, but this is serious business. If the owl doesn't learn how to find food and hunt, it will not survive. Photo taken 7/8/01.
