GREAT HORNED OWL

In November, the Great Horned Owl was allowed to catch its own live mice that were left for it in the large flight enclosure. By the end of November it had successfully perfected this skill and was released near the center where another owl frequents to visit Merlin, the resident owl. The two owls have been heard calling in the night and seen on a few rare occasions. This has been a real success story. Photo taken 9/23/01.
