NPWRC is a non-profit (501(c)3) volunteer organization. We get no
government funding. Our ability to help the wildlife is possible only due to
the generosity of the people in the community.
You cannot rehabilitate animals
by just putting them in cages and feeding them. Just like injured people need
time to heal and then exercise and physical therapy to make the injured
limbs work, so do the animals. They need enclosures large enough to fly
or run and jump. They need food, and lots of it and each has a different diet.
Some of the orphaned animals
need frequent feedings (every 15 - 20 minutes like the mother bird feeds).
They need clean bedding or perches or pens. They need medicine and other
medical supplies. Nature provides for the animals when everything is going
right, but due to man's intervention, sometimes nature needs man's help
getting things put back on the right track.
If you enjoy that special moment
when you get to see a wild animal in its natural setting, then think of us.
We try to get the injured and orphaned animals back out there for those
special moments, and we need your
help.
